Sunday I woke up to discover I had forgotten to buy diapers and I was down to my last one...so I told Chase it was time to potty-train...it was going pretty well until last night when I asked him to go potty before bed, he proceeded to tell me, "I quit!" All the bribing in the world is not getting him back on that toilet. Where does this stubbornness come from?

Hair Fun

Kohl was inspired by a photo he saw of a mohawk and wanted to do something fun for the summer...we decided the mohawk was maybe a little too much (for his mom and dad) and settled for a fauxhawk. This is before the actual haircut.
This is post haircut, not too bad. We can make it more wild, but since we were on our way to church we thought the more "conservative" option was good. He has had great fun putting blue hair gel in to make it even more wild, unfortunately I didn't get a photo of that look.

happy day

How quickly it goes by...

It seems like just yesterday that I took this picture of the kids' first day of school...

Here they are as we head out for their last day of school. They each grew a few inches, Brynn's hair is shorter and Kohl's is longer, and their brains now contain a lot more information. They loved 1st grade and Kindergarten and their wonderful teachers are going to be missed... but we are very excited for summer vacation!!!

Freeze!

Mom: "Chase, let's change your diaper."
Chase: "Don't talk about me!"
Mom: "I am changing your diaper!"
Chase: "FREEZE!"
(if only his super powers worked he could wear a stinky diaper all day as his mom stands frozen in place with diaper and wipes in hand)

Flowers

Thanks Dan!

may days

May has been filled with all of the fun end of school happenings and we have been one busy family. I wish I had more pics to share, but my cute husband has had my camera to take pictures like this, so I missed some great photo ops.

Both the kids have had their end of year field trips, Brynn went to Purina Farms and Kohl to the Botanical Gardens. I had the fortune to attend both as a chaperone. Kohl's was last friday and it rained the entire trip...what a joy! The rain didn't dampen any of the fun for the kids, Kohl told me he thought it made the trip more fun, I love the attitude of a 7 year old!

I have also been able to attend several functions at the school to watch the kids many talents. Kohl's class put on a puppet show with homemade puppets, Brynn's class had a spring concert where Brynn got to show us her worm dancing skills...can I just say "pole dancer" it was too funny. Brynn also had a writer's celebrations and read a book that she authored and illustrated. Yesterday was Brynn's gymnastics performance ( pics to be coming via a friend who had her camera) and we were treated to a fun show. It is good to see what $260 worth of lessons gets you these days...

Hopefully things will start to slow down as we are just 2 short weeks away from summer...can't wait!

Missing my sibs

I don't know if it is just being 7 months pregnant or the fact that I haven't been able to see my favorite peeps for a year, but I am really missing my sisters and brother today. So much so that I am actually a little teary-eyed at the moment posting these pics and remembering the fun we had last summer in Vernal, Utah...of all places!
I always have so much fun when we get that rare chance to all be together and the days just don't last long enough. I think we could sit around a table of good food and literally talk about everything forever. We are all so very different...but yet so much alike. My poor brother has had to endure a lot being the only boy amongst three very strong female personalities. He did the job well and I know that we each adore him.
Today just happens to be Eirk's 38th birthday and I want to wish him the best. Memories flood as I think about growing up with Erik...trampoline games, skiing (water and snow)...especially the time you hit the dock, ouch..., "500" in the front yard, riding our bikes and you not believing my arm was actually broken(no sympathy!), your skills in the kitchen, wrecked cars...we've each had our fair share, humor abound, your radio shows and plays, long car drives from Montana to Utah, camping, and the list goes on. We had so much fun together...
It is so fun to see the man, husband, and dad that you have become. Bodhi is so lucky to have you and Kris and we love him. I know you are doing important things in your community and I love your passion. Keep doing what you believe. Erik, Happy Birthday! I love you!
