Although we don't get to enjoy a white Christmas we do have everything else needed for a perfect Christmas...namely; family, food, more family, and lots of yummy food. I hope you all have a perfect holiday as well.

2009 Creche and Carols Picture

The kids didn't want to dress as your typical Mary, Joseph, angel, wiseman, or shepherd. They wanted to pay homage to the animals from the manger. Drake thought is was a great game to hit them all with his staff. Good memories.

Thankful and still stuffed!

This year we had the Potters join us for the fun and we were so glad they did. The theme in the kitchen was..."crap, did we just burn that?" Even with a few things left in the oven for a bit too long...ie. bread crumbs, green beans casserole, and a batch of rolls...they were all still edible and dare I say unnoticeable.
Here is a quick rundown of our Thanksgiving...Potters arrive on Tuesday...play, shop, play some more. Wednesday....Ann and Lori cook, cook, and cook some more while the kids play and swim with Nanna. Thursday...start morning off with some yummy Monkey Bread (so yummy).

Drake begs to get dressed so we can get to the 9:55am showing of "A Christmas Carol". I loved it!
It was so frigid outside, Dan decided to get a fire going to warm all our toes.
Can you ever have enough rolls for Thanksgiving???? They were about the only thing my kids ate.
Ann showed us all that she has mad pie-making skills...so delish! ( some little finger tried out the pumpkin, who could that have been???)
We were slowly getting it all together to eat.
I missed the next few photo ops as I was getting the rest of the food ready to eat and then I just plain forgot to take pics of the rest of the dinner.
It is hard to cook with this little one attatched to my hip, but we got it done.
Ann and Drake bonding.
So full after dinner we had to take our pants off, fortunately for you Drake is the only one I photographed:)

And to wrap up the day Dan got a few pics of the moon...

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving...so much to be thankful for!

daddy/daughter date

Brynn and Dan got to attend the "Ball" our primary threw last weekend. She was so excited to have a date with Dad. I think her favorite part was going shopping for the dress. She insisted on wearing something that her dad had never seen before...how could I say "no". I was fortunate enough to get to witness the whole thing since I am in the primary presidency...it was a sweet night for both of them and it made me cry seeing them together dancing to really cute songs about dads and daughters.

It's a month of Halloween fun

The spread of "body parts" my pre-school class had to touch behind a box, most chickened out after the first few touches.
Chase and Drake ready to head over to our play group Halloween party.

A couple of different looks for Chase to consider.

Maybe Drake can go as a frog next year...a little too big for this dude.
After our ward's Trunk-O-Treat party. I had always wanted my own puddle skirt and was thrilled when Brynn decided that that was what she wanted to dress up as for Halloween this year. We had a great time making our skirts on a day she stayed home with swollen tonsils.
Kohl isn't pictured because he choose to ditch us for a birthday party instead...so his pictures will come next week.
We don't just celebrate Halloween on the 31st at this house. All month we have costume parties, trunk-o-treats, pre-school fun, and of course hours of preparing our costumes.

Family Picture Adventure

So we went out on Sat. to a fun park we hadn't been to before, Laumeier Park, and had Alma Tait take our pictures. I love her work and I think she did a great job capturing moments. Here is a link to her website that features some of the pictures.

She couldn't come more highly recommended.

some quick catch-up photos

These are just a few of the pictures from the last month. We spent a week in Branson, Mo the first week of September and there we celebrated Chases's 4th Birthday. He didn't want cake, just a rootbeer float...that was easy enough to oblige. The kids loved the jetted tub and bubbles...too fun! We got to see some fun shows, spend a day at Silver Dollar City amuesment park, skip rocks at the lake, ride the duck, and fish.
The rest of the month was busy with getting back into the school routine, piano lessons, cub scouts, Chase's co-op pre-school, Lori's girl's trip to Branson, and a trip for Dan and Lori to Ocean City, Maryland. It has been busy, but all fun.

And so it begins again...

My handsome 3rd Grader
The most adorable 2nd grader (sporting a new short do)
Their annual stand-by-the-tree-and-pose picture
Waiting for the bus, Chase had to bring the "dee-dee",
this will be the only day we will be here early and waiting.
The only shot I could get with the bus...so sad to see them off!

City Garden Park

We spent the day at a new park that opened in St. Louis for the All-Star game...it was "the best park ever"!

We will be back soon.
